Roland "The Sheep" De Wolfe (also known as Roland "The Edge" De Wolfe and as Roland "Chopper" De Wolfe) (born 1979 in London) is an English professional poker player and was formerly a writer for poker magazine Inside Edge.

He comes from a gambling family and used to play pool for money as soon as he looked old enough to get into pubs. He didn't just play pool; he hussled pool - one-handed. [1].

A journalism course, where he met Albion fan Tom Woodgate and Christopher Nye, and a love for gambling sent him into the world of covering poker tournaments. It wasn't until later that he put what he learned by observation to use. He realised he was a good poker player when he won a tournament where the other two players in the final three were Sir Clive Sinclair and Al Alvarez.

Roland went to Birmingham University and is a big fan of Arsenal FC, Simon Smith aka Smuggie and Tim Kent - also known locally as Kendo. He went to the world famous University College School (UCS) in Hampstead which has produced other international stars such as Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Tim Nedas, Anish Shah and Tristan Fantan.

Fans can regularly spot Roland in Las Vegas, Monte Carlo and the notorious Honey Club in Brighton.

After winning first prize in the Gutshot Poker Festival, he went on to make a money finish in the $1,000 No Limit event of the 2005 World Series of Poker.

In July 2005, he won first place in the Grand Prix de Paris event of the World Poker Tour (WPT)'s fourth season, defeating former champion Juha Helppi in the final heads-up battle.

In April 2006, he finished 3rd out of 605 runners in the WPT $25,000 Championship event at the Bellagio, winning over $1,000,000.

In October 2006, De Wolfe won the European Poker Tour (EPT) Dublin event, and the €554,300 first prize. In the process, he became the first person to win an event in the WPT and the EPT.

De Wolfe has also competed in both the World Speed Poker Open and the William Hill Poker Grand Prix.

As of 2007, his total live tournament winnings exceed $3,400,000.
